Dr. Stefan Schoisswohl
Neuroscientist & Tinnitus Researcher
About Me
I am an Austrian neuroscientist and tinnitus researcher working at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich, Germany and at the Center for Neuromodulation of the University Regensburg, Germany.
My main research interests are different non-invasive brain stimulation techniques especially the effects of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) in fundamental research e.g., on brain activity (Electroencephalography) as well as in the treatment of neuro-psychiatric conditions. Especially, I am interested in understanding Tinnitus and conducting research on treatment approaches for this auditory phantom sound perception.
I am the scientific co-coordinator of the EU-funded international UNITI-Project and the deputy leader of the clinical trial work group. Further I am the team leader of the human neuroscience research group as part of the MEXT-Project.
